The BonafID project aims to offer a solution for an identity and access management (IAM) platform, which implements the concept of a life-long identifier for education (eduID).

Identity and access management (IAM) is a vital part of today’s digital infrastructure. Higher education institutions have to manage identity data for different person groups (i.e. students, employees, etc.), originating from various sources (ERP systems, directories, student management tools, etc.) and used in a multitude of different systems (e-mail, workstations, web applications, etc.). Having an organized and efficient IAM system eases the management of this data, makes it possible to avoid duplicate data and increases data protection and security.

BonafID is promoted by Datasphir and aims to implement a software solution based on various established open source software products for a IAM system that supports eduID.
